Santiago

My hero is my brother Santiago. For me he is my hero because of his great ability and his great patience. He is 15 years old. He is medium-height and has a heart-shaped face. He has short blonde hair and light brown-eyes. He has a pointed nose and a big mouth. He is very strong and friendly. He has a great sense of humor. He is the perfect hero for me because of his great perseverance and courage.

One day, when I was five years old, we were in Brazil, on the beach. It was very hot so I decided to go and swim in the big ocean. I didn’t realize that the waves were so strong so I went in. The water started taking me deeper and deeper inside the ocean and I couldn’t go out. I started screaming but nobody understood me because all the people spoke Portuguese. When suddenly my brother appeared and with all his courage and strength he took me out of the water very easily. He was like my saviour angel.

In my family we are three brothers. He is the one of the middle and I am the smallest. Although we always fight I know he is a very good person. One day my brother and I were riding a bike because we were going to the tuck-shop to buy some sweets. Suddenly I got my shoe caught with the pedal of the bike, I fell and I cut my feet. It started bleeding a lot and I couldn’t walk. My brother, quickly, took me on his back all the way back home. For that reason the wound stopped bleeding and I was better. If he hadn’t been there, nobody would have saved me, and all thanks to him.

In my opinion I could compare him with “CLAUDIA”, the main character of the book “From the Mixed up Files”, because he is my big brother as Claudia, he protects me a lot and takes care of me like Claudia protects Jamie. He is very similar in most of the characteristics of Claudia; he is very tolerant and perseverant. He makes me laugh a lot and he is very intelligent. He always helps me and sometimes fights with me like Claudia and Jamie.

In conclusion I would say that for me, my brother is my best hero for all the things he has done to help me, for all his patience and perseverance and most of all because he is my brother and he is really important for me. I would use him as a role- model in my life so that I could be a hero for someone one day as he is for me.
