Even one of the smallest but quickest people in NFL history can make a big difference. Emmitt Smith lll is one of the most talented running backs in NFL history. He was born on May 15, 1969 in Pensacola Florida. He got his name from his father but spells it with an extra t due to a spelling mistake, which he liked. Emmitt Smith started playing football with the Salvation Army. After taking his football year seriously he decided to play for his high school team named Escambia. In his high school career in 45 games he rushed 8,804 yards and a total of 106 touchdowns.
After his high school years he had gotten a scholarship to a very good college in Florida, the University of Florida Gators. He played for the Florida Gators in college for 3 years. He set school records in his junior year with 3928 rushing yards and 36 touchdowns. Everybody was amazed at what he had done in college. Emmitt went straight to the Dallas Cowboys and won three Super Bowls in 1992, 1993 and 1994. He was MVP in 1993 and in his total career with the cowboys he had 18000 yards, 153 touchdowns and 3 super bowl rings.
Emmitt Smith is now a studio analyst for the NFL network. He also lives in Dallas with his wife and kids. Emmitt Smith is important to me because he has done so many things in NFL history. Like unbelievable rushing touchdowns. He makes me think there is a chance for anybody to do the same. Despite being so short he has accomplished big dreams. After seeing what he has done, it gives us courage and inspires us to try to do the same. If we believe then maybe our dreams can come true.
