Supergirl, Kara Zor-El, was sent to Earth on a spaceship at age 16 because Krypton, her home planet, had exploded. She was left to take care of her cousin, baby Clark. However, she was caught in suspended animation along her journey and ended up being younger than Clark when she arrived to Earth. Clark had grown to be Superman. All of a sudden, when she arrives on Earth the sun gives her extraordinary powers. She must learn to control her powers and learn life on Earth.

Supergirl is not just a superhero, she is also a role model. She inspires big and little girls across the globe. She has taught them that just because you're a girl it doesn't mean that you can't be as strong and powerful as a boy. Supergirl is not only a role model to girls everywhere, she is a hero to me for many reasons. First, she always has time for fun. Whenever she is in a stressful situation she just cools off by taking a flight through the night sky. She also has fun with her powers when the time is right. Supergirl knows that you don't always have to just be focused on saving the world, you can just relax sometimes. Second, she embraces her human nature. She's a charming, humble, and kind person, not just a strong superhero. Third, Supergirl realizes that her powers can do good in the world. After saving a crashing plane she realizes this is what she was meant to do. Her powers are a tool to do good, no matter how big or small, she does everything with the same passion and commitment. Fourth, Supergirl is an inspiration. She never wants to resort to violence. She will do everything she can do stop her enemy before she must fight. This shows that Supergirl has a good character because she doesn't want to hurt anybody, not even the cruelest of people.

Supergirl is a superhero, an idle, a hero, and a warrior. She saves people everyday without even being asked. The dictionary definition of the word hero is "a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities." This is exactly what Supergirl is. One word that I would use to describe Supergirl is selfless. She puts others before herself, and tries to help them even if it means risking her life. In conclusion, Supergirl is not just a superhero she is a kind-hearted role model who I admire greatly.
