Syaoran

Syaoran is one of the main characters of the cartoon series Tsubasa Chronicles, a Japanese animation series. Syaoran is a young man from Clow country, a city with a palace and an old site of ruins that Syaoran's father is excavating. The king's sister, Sakura, is prophesized to have extremely powerful magic, and is fated to marry Syaoran. Syaoran is an orphan, and his adopted father took him to ancient ruins all over Clow country to excavate, and find rare things. Syaoran, before his father adopted him, was alone on the streets, and went through a very rough time. When Sakura met him, she was told to make him smile, and warm his heart, because it had become cold over time.

Kurogane

Syaoran came back to town one day, and Sakura went to visit him. They had been friends for a very long time, and she was going to say "I love you," when a bell rang, and she had to return to the palace. That night, as she was looking out from the balcony, a magical force took her over, and she went down to the ruins. Syaoran found her almost immediately, and was shocked to see her. Her magical powers forced open the floor of the ruins, and she sprouted wings and started to float down into the floor. Syaoran sprang in to try to save her, because he thought she was in trouble, and as he did, he removed the wings from her back. Later, when the king and his advisor charged through their enemies with the 'fake smile' symbol on them, and went down into the ruins, Syaoran found out that the wings were her heart. He was suddenly plunged into a quest to retrieve the feathers, (her memories), that could complete her wings, (her heart). The king's advisor cast a spell to teleport them which granted him the power to teleport between worlds, in order to retrieve the feathers. But to retrieve the feathers, Syaoran had to give up the most important thing to him. He had to give up their relationship, and she could never remember him again.

Fye D. Flowright-Tsubasa Chronicles

World after world, close calls nearly ending his life each time, his love for Sakura presses him on, and he fights for his life and that of his companions, Kurogane and Fye. What makes Syaoran a hero, is the fact that no matter what danger he might be facing, as long as he's one step closer to getting a feather, he'll take it. His friends support him, and even though he's sometimes severely injured, or things seem impossible, he keeps trying. In the end, together they are able to get back one of her feathers.

Syaoran has definitely influenced the way I live my life. Up until now, I have been coasting; I just do what gets me by, and no more. But Syaoran is the kind of guy that if something matters to him, he'll fight for it. He has inpired me to be like him. That's why my dreams will never fade.
