Tyra Banks

A hero doesn't have to have super powers or wear weird costumes, a hero can be an everyday average person that does something inspiring or extraordinary. Tyra Banks is my hero because not only is she extraordinary, but she is determined, kind and inspiring.

Tyra Banks was born in Los Angles on December 4th 1973. Her parents got divorced when she was six. When Tyra was in high school she decided that she wanted to become a model. Although she got rejected four times she didn't stop trying. She was finally signed by elite modeling at the age of seventeen. Tyra Banks was also the first African American woman to be on the cover of many magazines such as GQ.

To begin with, Tyra was determined to become a model. When she was rejected four times she didn't give up. The other modeling agencies said that she wasn't photogenic enough. Even after that she didn't give up . This made me realize that no matter what you shouldn't give up and what people say is not always true.

Tyra is also a kind person, the reason being that she has helped many people in may ways. Firstly she has her own charity, TZONE. TZONE is a charity that helps girls and women from disadvantaged communities achieve all that they can. Tyra also supports the Yele Haiti fund,a fund that helps people from poorer parts of Haiti. This proves to me that no matter how much money that you should help the disadvantaged.

Tyra is also an inspiring person. She has inspired many people with her show America's Next Top Model. That show helped me realize what modeling really was and that it is not just a bunch of anorexic models doing weird poses. The show also made me realize that modeling takes skill and effort. Tyra has also inspire d the girls on the show to do their best and also that no matter where you come from that you can succeed.

Tyra is more than just a model and hero though, she is inspiring kind and determined. She has helped many people in many ways. She has done so much with her life and I hope more people become like her.
