Thomas Edison helped make the world a better place by inventing. His inventions included: the incandescent light bulb, the phonograph, and the movie projector. All of these were very good inventions because we use them almost every day. This inventor was born on February 11, 1847, in Milan, Ohio.

While creating his inventions he never followed the laws of physics; he wanted results by trying different things. Sometimes it took a long time to invent something. It took him over 1000 different tries to invent the light bulb. He invented it by not giving up.

Thomas Edison always sets goals for himself, his team of inventors, and people who helped with his inventions. His goals were: a minor invention every 10 days and a major invention every 6 months. He wanted his team to be challenged with things that might not be possible. Like inventing the incandescent light bulb.

Edison was someone who wouldn’t give up even if the odds were against him. He always fought until he got the invention done right. He is an inspiration to me because he would not quit until his inventions were done right.

I choose this person because he is a great inventor, and a genius. He is one of the most loved inventors because of his inventions. Without Edison we wouldn’t have any incandescent light bulbs that use electricity. If he didn’t invent the phonograph we have any music players; like I-pods and CD- Players.
