by Davide from Raleigh

Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.

In my life I think of a lot of people who I am inspired by, but out of all them when I think of someone I can relate to is the famous Inventor Thomas Edison.

Thomas Edison was born on February 11, 1847 and died October 18, 1931. Thomas Edison Grew up in Port Huron, Michigan. As a child, Thomas Edison did not do very well in public school. Teachers said he was to hard to teach because he couldn’t pay attention and was always off task, so his mother decided to take Edison out of school and home school him. In his early life Thomas Edison took on many jobs. He was a newspaper boy, snack seller, and a part time shop cashier for a candy store. But as time went on he decided to follow his interest in Business and science, slowly becoming an inventor, and would continue that career for the rest of his life.

Thomas Edison has done so much for humanity with his amazing inventions that have all led and inspired others to improve the lives of so many, by bringing light and Entertainment into all of our homes. His famous inventions include the phonograph, Telegraph, and his most famous and Influential Invention the Light Bulb.

Now you may wonder why do I relate to Thomas Edison. Well, from what I have gathered we think in the same way sometimes. When people thought he was crazy or stupid he always proved them wrong. He stands to me as something I would love to become or maybe I am, and inspires me to do my best and proves to me just because someone’s different doesn’t mean it's a bad thing.
