Tony Fadell

by Jocelyn from Ansonia

What do you know about Tony Fadell? Anthony M. Fadell was born and grew up in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. He was born in 1969. He is 41 years old today. Tony is his nickname. Tony has no kids. He invented an Ipod on October 23, 2001. Tony Fadell graduated from University of Michigan for engineering in 1991.

He worked for Apple since February 2001. Fadell has a wife named Danielle Lambert. She also was Vice President of Human Resources at Apple. Tony was known for being the Senior Vice President of the Ipod at Apple Inc. In April 2001, he was hired by Apple to assemble and run its Ipod and special project groups. He was promoted to Vice President of Ipod engineering in 2004. On October 14, 2005 Apple announced that Fadell would replace the retiring Jon Rubinstein as Senior Vice President of the Ipod division on March 31, 2006.

The characteristics and actions of a hero that Tony Fadell displays is that he made the world a better place by giving us music in an Ipod that we can bring anywhere. Tony is thoughtful because he made something and he shared it with the world. People have been inspired by Tony Fadell because he made that Ipod. People can depend on him because if somebody goes up to him and tells him to make me a bigger Ipod, I guarantee that he will go and make it. I think he is helpful because he decided to make an Ipod and share it with others. Those are the characteristics and actions of a hero.

Tony Fadell is considered a hero to me because when I heard that an Ipod came out, I thought, "Thank Goodness!", somebody made an Ipod. Also, when Tony made the Ipod, I felt relieved because now we don’t have to carry a CD case with us. All I have to do is slip the Ipod in my pocket and take it wherever I want. Instead of having to change the CD, I could just download my favorite songs on there. Tony made a difference in my life because without Tony Fadell we would not have an Ipod today.

Would you like to meet your hero? I would like to meet my hero because I want to see how he made the Ipod. Also I would love to interview him because he has inspired many people and I am one of those people. I would also want to meet Tony Fadell because I think that if I get enough information, I could share it with the world.
