Terry Fox

by Alexandra

Terry Fox Run is for people that have cancer and lots of other people. Terry Fox is a hero. Terry Fox called his run the Marathon of Hope. Every year at school we run to remember Terry Fox. Terry Fox ran with one leg because he lost it to cancer.

Terry Fox was born in Winnipeg. He was born July 28, 1958. His family was Darrell, Fred, Judith, mom and dad. He was the second oldest. He raised a lot of money. He was really nice. When he was a little boy he liked to do sports.

Terry Fox was influenced by his mom. She encouraged him when he was running. Because of his mom he believed in himself. An obstacle for Terry was his leg. He had cancer in his leg. Another obstacle for Terry was his leg was amputated.

Terry Fox ran across Canada. He collected money for kids that had cancer. People are happy that he helped them. He didn't give up. A lot of people are happy that Terry Fox raised money.

Terry Fox is kind. He shows he is kind because he ran across Canada to help others. Terry was courageous. He shows courage when he ran with only one leg. It was hard.

Terry Fox influences me to try my best. He tried his best at running across Canada. He makes me want to help others. I do the Terry Fox run every September to help be like Terry and help raise money for kids with cancer.

Terry Fox did not finish running across Canada because his cancer came back. Terry Fox died from cancer. Everyone keeps raising money and running every year for Terry. Terry is a hero even after he died.
