It is always possible." This quote shows how the Dalai Lama is a very kind and compassionate person and is very deserving of the title "hero". The Dalai Lama has also won countless awards for World Peace and Human Rights. His whole life he has been working towards world peace. His teachings in China had such an impact on the people living there that after a few years, he was banished from his home country. After banishment, he traveled the world spreading his ideas and religion to others. Overall, the Dalai Lama is a caring and inspirational person who has devoted his life to spread peace.

The Dalai Lama has been quoted and followed for his inspirational ideas and way of teaching, and has been written about in countless well known publications. In one article, written by Eric McGuckin, it states, "The Dalai Lama has received many awards and honorary degrees in recognition of his Buddhist scholarship and efforts on behalf of world peace and human rights. In 1989 he was awarded the Raoul Wallenberg Congressional Human Rights Award as well as the Nobel Peace Prize." The Dalai Lama has proven to be very influential and has done countless acts of good will to deserve these awards. His degrees show that he has the intelligence to inspire and his efforts towards human rights and world peace show how caring and deserving he is of the title "Hero". The Dalai Lama shows that he is a very caring man, and in another article by Eric McGuckin, it describes the Dalai Lama, " ...is considered to be one of the most revered and influential spiritual leaders in the world. His lifelong efforts to campaign peacefully on behalf of Tibetan human rights while in exile have inspired human rights and peace activists worldwide." This again substantiates how inspirational and influential the Dalai Lama is, and shows why he is worthy of the title of "Hero".

In an article by Time Magazine a man was speaking to the Dalai Lama and recalled, "I first saw the Dalai Lama in the dusty North Indian town Bodh Gaya in 1985, four years before he won the Nobel Peace Prize. Speaking without notes for an entire day, he explicated, with remarkable vigor, arcane Buddhist texts to a small crowd at the site of the Buddha's enlightenment. Thirty years later, at our first meeting, in May of last year, he was still highly alert; a careful listener, he leaned forward in his chair as he spoke. When I asked him about the spate of self-immolations by Buddhist monks in Tibet, he looked pained." This shows how caring the Dalai Lama is to individuals and how similar he is today as he was 30 years ago. The Nobel Prize shows just how others have recognized him for being such a kind, caring, and influential individual. This article also shows how the Dalai Lama is comfortable speaking to all peoples and will be thoughtful and kind when engaged. In an article found on nobelprize.org it states where the Dalai Lama has traveled including, "...the United States, Canada, Western Europe, the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, Mongolia, Greece, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Nepal, Costa Rica, Mexico, the Vatican, China and Australia. He has met with religious leaders from all these countries." This shows he doesn't just communicate to one region, religion, or race, he reaches out to everyone in attempt to create world peace. This is a major contributing factor to justify just how incredibly caring the Dalai Lama really is and how he isn't biased towards all regions of the world.

Throughout the life of the Dalai Lama, he has spread his ideals of world peace and kinship throughout the globe. He has proven to be a very inspirational person and has displayed kindness to all. The quote that was mentioned before, "Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible", shows how he understands peace and tranquility and wants to spread it. He inspires others with his simple aura and inspires me to be at peace with myself and the world around me. With all the awards he has received for being such an inspirational person, he has been recognized worldwide inspiring countless others to attain self realization, and to be inspirational and caring to others.
