Tim Peterson

by Peter from Loveland

My Hero is Tim Peterson. He is a computer genius. He works at Crossroads Church and he is the man in charge of all technology. He has a wonderful wife and two kids, Caden and Braden. Sometimes they "try" to help with all the technology during church service. Tim puts me in charge of lights during the service with around 600 people to 1200 on special occasions, like Christmas, Good Friday, and Easter.

I chose Tim because he has been a mentor to me. He has basically taught everything or most of what I know about technology. Sometimes Tim isn't just a person who does computers. In the summer he will come over to my house and we will have competitions on who can catch the most fish. When he comes over to fish, for his youngest boy we put a weight on the end instead of a hook because one time he hooked Tim's shirt and almost yanked him in. Tim and I are always saying our football team is better. He likes the Nebraska Corn Huskers while I like the Wisconsin Badgers. But that's not as big as us fighting over the best NFL team. He likes the Kansas City Chiefs while I love the Green Bay Packers. One time when I was working at church I did Green Bay colors and I told him after that and he said that I am not allowed do that again, but I still did it the next service and he just laughed.

When I was first on the tech team at Crossroads it really wasn't because of Tim. I actually was there because they needed a fill in desperately and they knew me from vacation Bible school when I did camera. After that He just started to have me do camera more and more. He figured out I could learn really fast, so he started to put me on words. (lyrics and sermon notes ) I did that for a while until he didn't have anyone for lights. He put me on that and he knew that was my spot. After that every time I had a weekend open to work at church, I worked lights. He would stand behind me for a few times after that making sure nothing goes wrong. A while ago he started just leaving me do to the job on my own. On Good Friday he told my Dad he couldn't believe leaving the lights in the hands of a 12 year-old in front of 1200 people. When I wanted to work at the chapels at school no one knew I had been doing tech for a long time except for my friends, so Tim wrote a letter for me which will probably let me do chapels for all the way up to I graduate. In all Tim has been a major part in my life teaching me, helping me and being great friends with me.
