Sargent Reiman and President Bush
Sargent Reiman and President Bush

Sargent Tommy Reiman didn't have much money as a kid. As a teenager he played football for the school football team. He did very well in school and after he graduated he joined the Army.

December 3rd 2003, he was leading a patrol team with three combat vehicles when he made contact with the enemy. As the enemy used rocket propelled grenades, he jumped in front of the machine gun on his truck and used himself as a human shield. Ignoring wounds in his shoulder and chest Sargent Reiman kept fighting until the battle was won.

When he came back from Iraq he was awarded a silver star for gallantry in action. He, his girlfriend and their parents were invited to the White House to meet President Bush.

If it wasn't for Sargent Tommy Reiman, his group would not have made it home. I hope that someday I can join the army and be a hero.
