Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She was born on Dec. 13, 1989 in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. Taylor's grandmother was an opera singer, and Taylor decided to follow in her footsteps. By the age of 12, Taylor was writing her own songs and playing guitar. Taylor got got discovered by Big Machine Records after an amazing performance at The Bluebird Cafe.
In 2006, she released her first hit single, "Tim McGraw." More popular singles sold after that, including "Our Song," "Teardrops," "Picture To Burn," and "Should've Said No."
Taylor launched a campaign to guard kids from online predators like cyber bullies and advertisers. Taylor donated to the Red Cross in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She joined the lineup at Sydney's Sound Relief Concert. She donated her prom dress to DonateMyDress.org. Taylor even sold a guitar to a silent auction.
Her music is so great that I just want to listen to it over and over again; it inspires me. This is why Taylor is important to me.
