When you think of a hero, you think of someone who others are inspired by. Taylor Swift is not just extremely popular among this generation, but is a hero to many people around the world. Taylor Swift is one of the most popular country and pop singers. Swift was born in Wyomissing, PA in 1989, but when she was 13 her family moved to Tennessee so Taylor could focus on signing with country labels in Nashville. By the time she was 14, Taylor Swift was signed as an official songwriter. When she released her song, "Tim McGraw", she was only 16 and immediately became famous. Swift has won countless awards for all of her work. She was also named the most charitable celebrity in both 2012 and 2013. By definition, a hero is someone who has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideal. Taylor Swift possesses generosity and hard work which makes her one of the most heroic celebrities.
Taylor Swift is a hero because of how generous and charitable she is. In People magazine, Wade Rouse recognized Taylor Swift's charitable efforts and said, . "Taylor Swift was named the most charitable celebrity of 2013, based on her $100,000 donation. to raise money for Centrepoint, a homeless youth organization" (Rouse). Along with being an extremely popular singer, Taylor Swift was also the most charitable celebrity in 2012 and 2013. Last year, she was recognized for a lot of generous work, but mainly her $100,000 donation to a homeless children center. Liz Braun, of the Toronto Sun website, told how the most charitable celebrity was chosen and said, . "The top spot was given to the celebrity who gave the most of their personal time for causes they felt passionate about, because that was more important than how much money they gave" (Braun). Taylor Swift was on the top of the most charitable celebrity list two years in a row. She topped off the list not just because of the amount of money she donated, but because of the time she spent to support people and organizations in need. She even beat out other generous celebrities like Beyonce and the band, One Direction. Taylor Swift is one of the most heroic modern day celebrities because of how generous she is, and how often she helps others in need.
Hard work and several awards are another reason that Taylor Swift is such a heroic celebrity. An article on Taylor Swift states some of her first album's successes, "Five consecutive singles from the album landed in the country top ten, a first in the history of the genre, and "Our Song" spent six weeks at the top" (Taylor Swift). Taylor Swift's albums have always landed on top of the charts, even starting off with her first released album, Taylor Swift. One of her biggest hits from her debut album called Our Song was number one for several weeks. This same article from Biography in Context tells about the award Michelle Obama presented to Swift at the 2012 Kids' Choice Awards, "Swift was recognized for her philanthropic efforts in March of 2012. She received the Big Help Award, presented by First Lady Michelle Obama, at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in Los Angeles. Obama cited Swift's efforts helping flood and tornado victims and charities for young people" (Taylor Swift). Taylor Swift has not only won awards for her music talents, but she has won awards for her generosity. In 2012, Michelle Obama presented Swift with the Big Help Award at the Kid's Choice Awards. From the start of her professional career, Taylor Swift's music has always been successful, and her hard work has won numerous deserving awards.
Taylor Swift is a celebrity who isn't only talented, but is also very generous and giving, which makes her stand out. Swift's albums have always topped the charts and been extremely successful. Her music has set amazing records. In addition, two years in a row she was named the most charitable celebrity due to her generous donations and the time she spent to help organizations and people in need. Swift's work has inspired other country artists and the whole genre of country music. Taylor Swift is an inspiration to all celebrities because of her amazing charity work. As a kid, Taylor Swift always felt out of place at school. People always wondered where she got her confidence from to face record labels, if she was always so shy. Swift said that the rejection she got from labels and producers was nothing compared to the terrible feelings she got from going to school. Taylor Swift, since the start of her career, has been nothing but loved. Taylor has millions of fans all around the world, not just because of her music, but because of her big heart and generous acts of kindness.
