Tamara Weaver

by Lydia from Georgetown

My hero is my Aunt, Tamara Weaver. Although I don't get to see her that often, anytime I do she always brings a smile to my face. I have known her since I was just a little baby, not even a year old. She is a wonderful character who always wants to lend a helping hand. No matter the problem, she has an idea to fix it. Once you give her something to do she will rarely stop until the job is done My Aunt Tamara has always been there for me and my family and loves us very much.

Not only is she a wonderful part of our family, but she is also a night nurse, too. This can be a very tough job to do, working shifts starting at seven at night and sometimes not getting home until six or seven in the morning. I sometimes joke around and think she is an owl the way she lives, sleeping in the day, working at night. She is a lot braver than I am to be able to work with people in that way, mending broken bones and putting stitches in cut arms. I would never be able to do that. She gives so much of the time she could be sleeping to physically help others get better, and I admire that very much.

My Aunt Tamara has nearly all the qualities of a hero. She is selfless and caring, responsible and smart. She is the type of person who will give until she can't give anymore. My Aunt Tamara is one who will go that extra mile to help someone, and is one of the most loving people I know.
