My hero is Tony Dungy. In his life so far, he has had many challenges. I think he is an amazing person because of what he has accomplished.

Tony Dungy

Tony Dungy was born on October 6, 1955 in Jackson, Michigan. His parents are Wilbur and Cleomae Dungy. They encouraged Tony to do well in academics. Tony attended Parkside High School and played the guard position in basketball and quarterback for football. He attended Minnesota University and also played football for the school. When he left college, he played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers. Later, he held many coaching jobs such as defensive back coach for Minnesota, Pittsburgh, and Kansas City. He has also been the defensive coordinator for Pittsburgh and Minnesota. He was the head coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is currently the head coach for the Indianapolis Colts.

Tony Dungy has become the only African American to win the Super Bowl as a head coach. He has also beaten all 32 teams as a head coach. Tony Dungy’s youngest son Jordan has a rare congenital condition, which causes him to feel no pain. James Dungy, another son of Tony's, committed suicide. Tony always puts religion and family before football. He is involved in a lot of organizations. Tony also holds a lot of events for kids and their dads to have a stronger relationship.

He has inspired me because he has gone through so many obstacles but has found a way to get through. He has taught me to put God before sports and everything else. Tony has taught me to overcome obstacles instead of grieving about them for a long time.

In conclusion, Tony Dungy is a great person. He has overcome a lot of challenges. He has inspired me in many ways. This is why he is my hero.
