Taitusi Lutui

My hero is Taitusi "Deuce" Lutui. He is my hero because he had a lot of hardships in his life but he got through all of them and achieved his dream. He is also my hero because he is my first relative to make it to the NFL and it encourages me to try hard to make it to the NFL too.

Taitusi "Deuce" Lutui was born in Ha’apa Tonga. Taitusi moved to Mesa, Arizona at the age of six months. His family always drove around the city and other cities to get used to their new surroundings until one day when he was 6 years old they got into a big car accident. Their car flipped over many times. Everybody was injured except for Taitusi. His little 4-year-old sister, Diana, died in this car accident. Because most of his older brothers were injured, Taitusi had to take up the responsibility of doing more chores. This made him grow up to be stronger and more responsible than others his age.

Lutui played for Mesa High School in Arizona. In his senior year he was a really great at blocking, so good he received many scholarship offers to colleges around the U.S.A. He accepted the scholarship to Utah, but was turned down because of academic reason. He then decided to go to MCC (Mesa Community College) where he became a dominant lineman. While, there he received more scholarships and chose to go to USC. There he blocked for Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush. Reggie Bush said Lutui is one of the most dominant linemen he had ever run behind.

Today he is playing for the Arizona Cardinals because he got drafted to them in the year of 2006. He plays Guard and he is 6 foot 4 inches and weighs about 338.
