Pinehurst teachers

Who helps me learn?
My heroes!
Who protects students from bullies?
My heroes!
Who makes kids feel better?
My heroes!
Who are my heroes?

I have had many good teachers over the few years that I have been in school. They have helped me become a well-rounded third grader. When I first started at Pinehurst Elementary School, I could not read as well as I can today. My kindergarten teacher helped me sound out words and she gave me thin books to read. Later, my first grade teacher helped me to improve my reading skills and showed me that reading could be interesting and a lot of fun. Now,three years later,I'm reading more difficult books and really enjoying them. Also, because of my teachers' help, I can write descriptive sentences with details and spell enormous words. These are only a few examples of how my heroes have helped me to become a better student.

You can always depend on your teachers for protection. One day my friend was having trouble with bullies on the bus. She told the teachers and they went on the bus and spoke sternly to the bullies. Immediately, the behavior stopped and my friend was relieved.

Teachers can make you feel better when you are upset or gloomy. One time in the first grade, I fell on the concrete and scraped my knee. It hurt very badly and I cried. They took me in the classroom and put a band-aid on it and it felt so much better. The next day when I came in the classroom, the teacher asked me how my knee was doing?. I said,"It feels much better."

I feel that I'm very fortunate to have caring and understanding teachers. My heroes have encouraged me to do more challangeing tasks. I will always remember these heroes.
