Have you ever been in so much pain that you can’t even stand it? Well, this happened to an extremely brave young man and his name is Victor Thompson. Thompson got severely injured during a football game. He is an extremely brave young man. In this article, I learned that you don’t have to be a hot shot, famous, dangerous, or anything like that. During a football game, Victor was tackled from all different directions. He had five hours of surgery on his leg because it was so bad. His experiences are totally different, now that he has to watch the team, and not play with them. Victor always said, “Why me?” He also quoted, “I didn’t know I was injured until I began to feel the pain, and looked down at my leg and it was twisted at a crazy angle and my knee looked like it was stacked with a lot of knee caps.” Thompson lives right here in Cincinnati.

Victor is now forced to get over the past and move on with the future. Because of the fact that Thompson has so much courage, he isn’t hiding from the sport of football. He has made a huge difference in his life. Victor Thompson is now in college and, instead of playing football in college, he is just attending classes. Victor Thompson still has to suffer with the pain that he can’t play football anymore but he still stands out on the football field every day, hoping he will be back out there.

Victor Thompson is an extremely good example of a survivor hero. He has learned how to live with the fact that he can’t play football anymore. He survived the incident that happened and he put a tattoo on his arm with the date and a football, so that he will have confidence in himself. Victor Thompson is a hero to his football team and their families. He has taught so many people that life just isn’t fair! He is not just a big hot shot or a dangerous kind of guy.

So, now you know that you don’t have to be famous, risky, or super strong to be a hero. All kids’ heroes are superheroes like Batman, Superman, Hulk, or even Catwomen. But, now I know that you don’t have to be anything special to be a true hero. For all we know, our best friend could be our biggest hero tomorrow for something little that they did.
