Do you know who Tina Turner is? Tina Turner is an inspiring singer that has a wonderful stage presence which gives her the power of being a women and a role model. Now let's get into my vivid description of her and her life.
Tina Turner was born Anna Mae Bullock on November 26, 1939, in Nutbush, Tennessee. She is African American, Navajo, with a Cherokee ancestry. She has one older sister named Alline Bullock. Her father, Floyd R. Bullock, and later their mother, Zelma Bullock, had abandoned them with their grandmother. Then in 1956 at age 16 Anna Mae Bullock and her sister Alline reunited with their mother in St. Louis, Missouri. There Anna met Ike Turner and pleaded that she could sing with him and then in 1958 she started working for him. They later married in 1962 while Ike was still married to his former wife. Tina and Ike had a child in 1960 named Ronie. Then by the mid 1970s Tina Turner’s personal life and marriage began to fall apart. Ike’s drug use led up to harmful physical behavior towards Tina and others. So in 1978 she finalized her divorce after 18 years of marriage, accusing Ike of years of severe spousal abuse and rampant drug addition. Then she later starred in the movie of the century Mad Max and Beyond Thunderdome
Tina Turner has made many contributions to people all over the world. For example she made a book called "I, Tina" which was later made in to a feature film, What’s Love Got To Do With It. This is a contribution because it revealed how her husband physically abused her so it wouldn't happen to any other young girl or women. She has also given us her great music. She is mostly known for her number one hit song What’s Love Got To Do With It.
Now you have read about Anna Mae Bullock a.k.a Tina Turner. You have seen her contributions, biography, and mainly why she’s my hero. So admire Tina Turner because she is an unforgettable person. Also never forget what she did to protect girls around the world.
