My Story takes place about 6 years ago when I was only 10. One night during the summer my two brothers and I decided to spend the night outside on our trampoline. Little did we know, it was going to be a night to remember.

It was late and dark. I remember looking at my watch for the last time before I fell asleep and seeing thet it was 12:34 AM. My two brothers, Alec and Ryan, and I were almost alseep when we suddenly heard a loud roaring sound in the distance. The loud noise woke us up in an instant. A second time we heard it, then a third, and a fourth, each time seeming to be getting louder and closer. The house we were living in at the time was located right on the side of a mountain, so it wasn't rare to have mountain lion encounters. The noise seemed to initially scare the life out of us, then we came to our senses and realized it was a mountain lion. During this time we were re-doing our backyard so where a fence once stood, there was nothing. From the front yard to the back was an easy task considering there was nothing blocking the way. The noise got close enough for my brothers and I to almost see the mountain lion. A dark shadow in the distance was what I finally saw. Then suddenly, from out of nowhere, my dog, Toby, came sprinting out of the house with a fury that would scare away the bravest. Barking and growling he ran towards the mounatin lion as if he were trying to protect us. The mountain lion turned away in fear as my dog chased him away. The mountain lion was gone. Tobey returned to a hero's welcome as he made his way up onto the tramp.
