Hello, my name is Ben and I am here to tell you a little bit about my hero, Tom, who also happens to be my dad.
To me a hero is either an animal or person that inspires someone for their heroic deeds and qualities. My dad is inspiring, courageous, brave, and also you can depend on him in a time of need or trouble. He is patient at all times and I am proud to say that my dad is the best hero anybody could have.
An example of my father’s act of heroism is when I was about to have my 2nd piano recital. I did not want to do it because I could not remember my song. This made me nervous. My dad was there to encourage me to play the song. He kept telling me that I could play my song. I was glad to have done it.
My father was encouraging to me by helping me play in my recital. That day I was happy to hear all the “Good Jobs!” and “Way to Goes!” But really my dad made all the glory happen. That day has helped me have more confidence in front of 100’s of people.
I want to thank you, dad, for your heroic deeds. When I grow up, I hope I will be as courageous, brave, and inspiring to my kids as you have been to me. I’m thankful to have you as a hero but especially as a wonderful dad.

We had to do either a skit, poem, song, rap, etc. for the program. For example, Andrew, Jaye, Grant, and I did a rap. We practiced in the gallery and practiced our speeches in the classroom. We had different parts in the rap. In the end, I kind of thought it sounded ok. We all made up our own part. Then, we did a song together (the whole class). The song was called Wind Beneath My Wings. My mom was crying during the whole song! I thought we did great because of the loudness of the clapping. Before we did it I actually was not nervous. I was very, very happy at the end. I was not scared or embarrassed during the whole thing. The day was great! It went fantastic and much better than I thought it would. The heroes, I think, felt sad and happy a t the same time (At least my dad was and sad in a good way). I would recommend this for other classes because it was fun and educational at the same time.
