Ladainian Tomlinson grew up in Waco, Texas. As a little boy, he grew up carrying a ball everywhere he went. He went to sleep with a ball under his pillow. That shows me that he was dedicated to the game. That is a hero. That is enough dedication for anyone to become a hero. That is, in my way of thinking, what makes a hero.

My hero has accomplished many things in his life like going to college at TCU and making it to the NFL. In his life in high school he had to earn his position with hard work and discipline. That was a part of his training. People thought he wasn’t going to be anything because they thought he was too small. After high school he attended college where he exploded and became a man among little boys and showed everyone he wasn’t a joke. That shows me the character in him that makes him a hero.
Ladainian is now living in San Diego, California, where he plays for the Chargers. He is in the NFL and he is becoming one of the best players in the game, maybe even better than his childhood hero, Emmitt Smith. His teammates call him Superman without the cape. He is a living legend because of his speed, agility, and toughness. If you ask me, that is a hero.
My hero still lives today and still plays the game of football. He is only twenty-seven. His motor is still running and, as he gets older, he gets wiser. That makes him more dangerous because he knows what the defenders are going to do to him before they know what they're going to do. Those are the deadly instincts that he has that make him a great running back.
My hero is important to me because he has seven qualities that make him one of the best football players ever. They are hard work, dedication, intelligence, toughness, speed, agility, and will. These qualities make a person a hero. LaDainian Tomlinson helps me know that, with hard work, I can do anything I put my mind to, no matter how big or small.
