I chose Lesley Hornby (Twiggy) as my hero because she proved that no matter what age or background you come from you can still follow your dream! She makes me want to pursue my dreams and live life in the fullest way possible.

Lesley Hornby was born September 19th, 1949 in London, England. She was discovered at a hair salon by Nigel Daivies and got a modeling contract on the spot! As soon as she was signed Twiggy became a fashion icon. She then moved to New York assuming the “Twiggy” craze would die down, but after became a living legend...

She was known for her very mod look. She reinvented the world of fashion setting new trends everywhere.

After 4 years in the business she retired from modeling saying “you can’t be a close hanger your entire life!”

Twiggy is a fashion icon, a living legend or any other thing you would like to call her, but one thing is true...SHE IS AWESOME!!!
