Valentina Tereshkova

Valentina Tereshkova was the first woman-astronaut in the world. She is the candidate of technical sciences, the heroine of the USSR. She is unique as the first-woman astronaut and she is in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Valentina Tereshkova devotes herself to our country, its development and progress. She pays much attention to work with people, not only in Russia but from some other foreign countries.

Valentina Tereshkova was born in 1937 in Maslenikovo village. She didn't have a father. Valentina left the village and went to the city. Tereshkova became a textile-worker; she was fond of parachute sport. From the parachute club she was enrolled to a detachment of astronauts. The woman-astronaut was in space about three days. Tereshkova became the only woman-general in Russia. Valentina's pregnancy was very hard but a girl was born normally.

Nowadays her daughter has her own family. But her first husband and Tereshkova divorced. Her second husband is the director of University of traumotology and orthopedy. They live in Star town.
