Vash

by Angie from Venezuela

When I was little, I saw on TV how kids always wrote stories about their heroes. I never had a chance to do it and I'd barely thought about it before, but now I'm sure and I'd like to write about the man who inspires me the most, Vash. I've always called him that, and I wouldn't say his real name here because I know him too well to know he'd like me to keep his low profile, even though I know someday soon he won't be able to keep his name secret anymore. He'll be great and famous I tell you.

Vash is 21 years old. When we met, he was 16 and I was 13. He lives in the USA and I live in Venezuela. Ever since, he's been a great guide to me. For once, it's thanks to him I learnt most my English and specially not afraid to use it anymore. Actually, it's because of him I'm mostly a happy person. All the insecurities I inherited from my little experience or even my own personality, he's been able to help me get rid of and told me all the things no one had before. Vash is my buddy, my guide, my best friend, my lover and many times he plays a daddy for me, no matter the distance - he's the one making me happy.

Despite all the bad things he's been through, he's strong enough to get out and continue with life. It doesn't matter what life brings him, he'll always face it, and he won't let anything bring him down for longer than a few minutes. It's the same if he goes to college, or if he goes to the Air Force, or becomes a spiritual leader or a political revolutionary -as sometimes we dream of together-, or even if he stays just the way he is, he'll keep being a great person, admired by many even if in secret, followed by thousands I wouldn't doubt, someday. No matter what, he'll always have me and he'll always be my hero and my lifesaver (yes, a red one :p).

Vash is not only a hero to me, he's a hero at work, to his friends, to his family and to all the people around him, and even to some not so much around.. He's tremendously generous and cares 100 times more for any person than for himself, he's always got wise advice to give, helpful hands to offer, witty comments to make and silly jokes to make one laugh. If the aliens came down to earth and asked me to take them to the Earth's leader, I'd definitively take them to Vash -and ask them for a ride there-.
