Michael Vick went to Virginia Tech and was drafted first overall by the Atlanta Falcons. Vick is now considered by many as "the NFL's most exciting player."
Michael Vick is a very determined person. This year in a pre seaon game he broke his leg and tore many ligaments. He is expected to return to the team in about 4 weeks. During the time he has been off he has spent many hours at the gym trying to get his leg back in shape so he can play football again.
Mike is very respected by adults but probably more by kids. He has supported the boys and girls club of America, which he also credits for helping his life get back on track. He invited more then 100 kids from the boys and girls club to the practice facility after a Saturday practice for a punt, kick and pass competition, as well as a flag football game. He then bought all of them tickets for the Falcons game the next day. He has also made many visits to Shepard Spinal Center where he talked to and signed autographs for the kids.
Mike is a role model he is ranked #77 on Sports Illustrateds 101 most influential minorities list in May 2003. He is the highest ranked football player on that list. This list is made up of men and women who are reshaping the sports industry and opening doors through which other will follow . This year he is making a large amount of money to the local chapter for every touchdown pass he throws.
Thats why Michael Vick not only is a sports superstar but a hero to alot of kids and adults aropunf the world today.
