Warren Buffet

In honor of Warren Edward Buffet, I did research about this hero in “Biography Today.” I chose Warren Buffet because he is my uncles’ boss. After the research, I was glad I did because I learned so much about him.

Who knew such a normal beginning would give the world such a hero? Warren Buffet was born on August 30, 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska. His Fathers’ name is Howard Buffet. His mothers’ name is Leila (Stahl) Buffet. Warren Buffets’ first wife was Susan Thompson. They were married on April 19, 1952. They had three children, Susan, Howard, and Peter. His wife died of a stroke in July 2004. Warren is still alive. Now he has a lifetime girlfriend, Astrid Menks.

The foundation of heroism is education. When Warren Buffet was young and in school he got bad grades in school. One time he ditched school and went to Hershey, Pennsylvania, where he planned on becoming a candy maker but the police found him and he was sent home. After that his parents talked to him and after that he never disappointed his parents with bad grades in school. He attended Alice Deal Junior High School. Then Woodrow Wilson High School. After he graduated he went to Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania. That was not a challenge for him so he then got a bachelor’s degree at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln in 1950.

Hard work contributes to heroism. Warren Buffet opened his first business when he was 5 years old. His first business was selling chewing gum. Now he owns the largest private jet company called NetJets. Warren donated more than 50% of all the money he owns to charity.

In June 2006, Warren made a huge commitment to kindly give away his fortune to charity, with 83% of it going to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The donation amounts to approximately $30 billion. Buffett's donation is said to be the largest in United States history. When the announcement was given, the donation was enough to more than double the size of the foundation. He is one of the most successful investors in the world. Since Warren Buffet is such an expert a lot of people stop him and ask him for stock tips. Buffet says "Anyone can achieve his level of success if they are willing to work hard.
