Walt Disney |
Walt Disney was one of the most talented and creative artists of the 20th century. He had many successes during his career such as: creating the first full color production, Flowers and Trees, the first full length animation,Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and the creation of the first theme park based on his most famous characters, Minnie and Mickey Mouse. Not only is he famous for creating those things, but he is also known for being a hero. He strived for opportunities and took advantage of them when he could. Walt Disney was and continues to be a hero to many people by demonstrating determination, perseverance, and the ability to be a leader.
Disney’s determination and perseverance were his most customary heroic traits. Even at a very young age Walt Disney showed that he was determined. He had always dreamed about being an artist and didn’t give up until he became one. As Disney once said, “The way to get going is to quit talking and begin doing,” (Walt Disney Quotes, 2). This shows that he was very strong-minded about getting things done, and getting them done right. He took his responsibility seriously, so that he was successful later in life. Walt Disney also said that “a person should set his goals as early as he can and devote all his energy and talent to getting there. With enough effort, he may achieve it. Or he may find something that is even more rewarding. But in the end, no matter what the outcome, he will know he has been alive” (Walt Disney Quotes, 1). This explains that he started dreaming early and then did what it took to make his dreams a reality. Disney was a determined man that did what he could to pursue his dreams.

Describing the plans for Disneyland (http://www.justdisney.com/images/Disneyland/plans.jpg) |
Walt Disney had the amazing ability to be a leader. He and his brother Roy started the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, but then later changed its name to Walt Disney Studio after Roy’s suggestion (Company History). “The company’s first synchronized-sound cartoon, Steamboat Willie (1928), featured Mickey Mouse, a character that became one of the best-known icons in the world” ( Disney, Walt). Disney proved that if you know what you want in life, you will achieve it. After only his first cartoon, Walt Disney and his company were on the road to success.” Walt Disney was hard-working, because he was determined to achieve his long-time goals” (Walt Disney Drive and Ambition). He worked all of his life in order to achieve what he had always dreamed of: being a successful animator. Disney moved across the country to get a better shot at being successful, and he succeeded. He was very serious about his ambitions. Walt Disney was a leader that many people listened to.
