Walter Elias Disney. What is a hero? A hero is a greatly admired person for their courage or qualities. Since the beginning many people have been well liked for an act of bravery or kindness. One of these special people was Walter Elias Disney also known as Walt Disney. He was a motion picture, television producer, and a showman. For many people Disney is a symbol of passion, imagination, and originality and will be forever a great hero.

Walt Disney has always enjoyed people, whether it bringing them happiness or helping them out. For example, he enlisted in the army as a young boy but sadly was rejected for being underage instead is he joined the American Red Cross in France for a year driving an ambulance. He brought many people happiness with his affectionate and charming personality. Also he went to Kansas City Art Institute and School of Design where he learned and became a fantastic cartoonist and used his gift for making commercials. He also began a business called Laugh-o-Grams which did exceptionally well, unfortunately was declared bankrupt due to the amount of debt. He never gave up on his vision of becoming a great cartoonist.

One of Walt Disney's many good qualities is his perseverance and imagination. Disney did not let a minor bankruptcy get in the way of his aspirations. He continued to make cartoons and moved to Hollywood alongside his brother, Roy. The two brothers produced a new studio named The Disney Brothers' Studio. December 21, 1937 Walt Disney had made the first full musical, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which was displayed in the Carthay Theater. He created several more films following Snow White such as Pinocchio, Dumbo, and Bambi. Disney's main dream came true when the Disneyland Park opened 1955 .Walt's awards consisted of 7 Emmy Awards, 48 Academy Awards and degrees in Harvard, Yale and UCLA. He is an intelligent, optimistic and inventive man who shows many how to accomplish their most frightening goals.

Walt Disney is unlike most heroes, he did not save people's lives or discover a life changing treatment. Many people categorize a hero as someone who risks their life to save another such as a police officer or a firefighter. However, this is not the case with Walt Disney; he did so much more then made a few movies and created an amusement park. He showed people how to laugh and be a little wild sometimes regardless of your age. Some people labeled him as a "dreamer" but that was exactly what he was.

Walt always attempted to achieve any goal he set for himself. Disney always said "We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths" .This is an extremely vital idea to keep in mind because it inspires people to be curious and never think you are finished learning new lesson and facts every day. He is a figure of innovation, motivation and curiosity. He is the definition of a hero for his determination to accomplish anything in your mind and to get your dream into a reality.
