Wilma Rudolph

by Emma from Cincinnati

Wilma Rudolph was a track star who never gave up. She had a rare disease when she was 5 causing her to lose the use of her left leg. She practiced walking every day without the steel brace her doctors put on. Soon she made her way to track. After several years of training she made into the Olympics. She came home with 4 medals! That’s why she’s my hero.
