My hero is Wilma Rudolph she was born in Clarksville, Tennessee. Wilma was born in 1940 and passed away in 1994. She was a great athlete. she had began at the age of seven but couldn’t do as much due to the illness that she had called polio. In middle school she tried out for basketball and didn’t play until her sophomore year and was the starting guard. In 1963, Wilma married her high school sweetheart, Robert Eldridge, with whom she had four children.

The reason why Wilma Rudolph is my hero because she was a strong woman. When she was young, she had an illness and she was strong and went through it. Whatever she wanted to do she never gave up and did it. That means I can be a strong woman like her and never give up for what I want to do. She is a great athlete. I always wanted to be a good basketball player even though I can’t really play but that shows I never gave up and I kept trying. So that’s why I choose Wilma Rudolph as my hero.
