When you say “hero” Will Smith comes to my mind. He is a very well known and accomplished actor and singer, as well as a father and husband. Will Smith is not my hero just because he’s famous and wealthy; to me he’s another great guy who does good things for people. Sure you can go look up the definition of Hero in the dictionary but to me that’s not exactly what a hero is. A hero can be anybody and they can have many different qualities; you don’t have to be able to fly or lift buildings to be a hero to me. Will Smith is a hero because although he doesn’t need to, he does things to help others because he realizes that some people aren’t as fortunate as him.

Willard Christopher Smith Jr. was born on September 25, 1968 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Now in 2008 Will Smith is a 40 year old married man with three children. Will is married to Jada Smith and has three kids: Jaden, Willard Smith III, and Willow Camille Reign. Will lives somewhere in northern California right now. Will Smith made a difference in people's lives by donating money to their charities. Will knows how most people aren’t as fortunate as him and so he does whatever he can to help them become a little more fortunate. I think Will Smith is a true hero.

Will Smith is a very well known actor; his movies have been viewed in over 30 countries. He has starred in many movies such as Hitch, Enemy of the State, Men in Black I and II, Bad Boys I and II, I am Legend, Independence Day, I Robot, Shark Tale, and the Pursuit of Happiness. As you can tell he’s very talented at acting in which is the reason for having starred in so many movies. Also all of his movies have brought in a total gross sum of 682 Million dollars. That’s a lot of money and he has donated some of it to charities because he is a good guy and a hero to many. Will Smith has also starred in the hit TV Series “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” where he met his wife Jada. As you can see Will Smith is a great person on and off the movie screen.

According to T.A. Barron's book A hero’s Trail, Will Smith would be classified as a “hero to others near and far”. I believe he falls under this category of hero because he helps kids and families all over by donating time and money to their organizations. In the book A Hero’s Trail, T.A. Barron talks about how people help others by donating to certain foundations and this is what Will Smith has done for a long time. This is why I feel Will Smith is a hero to others near and far. Will Smith spent some of his time in South Africa hosting an AIDS concert for Nelson Mandela. Also Will has donated $20,000 to Scientology’s Literacy Campaign. This shows Will donates his money and time to causes all over the world.

Will Smith is a charitable person as I’ve told you already a few times. Will has donated to many charities and foundations making him a generous and caring person. Will Smith not only cares for his family and job but for the hope and happiness of others. Will is a very successful and generous person. He is a hero to me and to many, I one day hope to be like him in being a good person. I one day hope to be like Will and am glad he is so kind and such a good hero to me and many others.
