James Watt, born in 1736 in Greenock Scotland, was a key figure in the industrial revolution in England.
Early on, James Watt took an interest in the steam engine. Soon, he repaired a new steam engine in 1764. Although James Watt only obtained a self-taught trade education, he completed a steam engine made in Newcomen; therefore, he was properly referred to as the first person to discover the steam engine.
James Watt's first success was patented in 1769, with his addition of a sturdy separate room. In 1782 he created the double machine and redid his previous steam engine design. His creations raised efficiency and were very worthwhile equipment, and have extraordinary usefulness in the industry.
James Watt also created a set jag to stop motion and reverse the machine, which became known as rotary motion in 1781. James Watt also succeeded in creating an automatic control circular motion in 1788, so that a machine could work automatically. In 1790 Watt also created pressurized measuring instruments, speed calculators, guide appliances and the vapor control valves. James Watt died in 1819.
