Reggie White was an honorable man both on and off the football field. I chose Reggie White because he played on my favorite football team, the Philadelphia Eagles. He also had great statistics, made inspiring speeches, and donated a lot of money to good causes. Reggie White has many heroic traits including leadership, kindness, and generosity. Those are a couple of reasons why I chose the great defensive end, Reggie White.

There are a couple of reasons why Reggie White was a hero on the football field. First of all he recorded twenty-one sacks in one season, which is a record. That year many players went on strike, but instead Reggie had his best season of his career. When he sacked a quarterback, he would immediately help the quarterback up and say ”God bless you.” That showed his characteristics of sincerity and kindness. Secondly he was inducted into the Hall of Fame and won Defensive Player of the Year a few times including 1997 with the Packers. Reggie White also has recorded the most sacks ever in the NFL at one hundred ninety-eight sacks. That record shows his determination to get into the back field which is another one of his endless traits. Reggie White will always be the best defensive end to ever play football.

I regard Reggie White’s accomplishments off the field as great as on the field. He has donated one million dollars to a charity. He has also helped to build schools, homes, and create jobs in Green Bay. Reggie White has helped change people’s lives, including football coach Mike Holgrem. Mike said, ”Reggie White made me a better person.” Reggie White believed all men are created equal. He wasn’t afraid to speak his mind, which takes courage. Reggie White is a great man both on and off the field.
