A shot from Why Violence?

Concerned students and parents discuss the ramifications of international war and its relationship to local violence in their neighborhoods and schools. The footage is intercut with a stage performance by Colored Ink called "The Streets Have Spoken." The film is produced and edited by the Students of MYTV Class 2005-06 of Bay Cat.

I’ve got friends, only 10, 11 years old, that’s carrying guns. You’ve got to explain to your child that it's not a toy, you don’t just play with it.

You think it's over, but you never can really tell what’s goin on in a person’s mind. You’re goin to see somebody that looks like somebody you just shot.

They don’t want kids to play with guns, but they’re recruiting 18 year old boys to go to war and to shoot people.
