A hero is not just someone who saves lives but can be someone who was important to history. Like my heroes the Wright brothers.

Orville Wright was born on August 19, 1871 in Dayton, Ohio. Wilbur Wright was born May 30, 1912. The Wright brothers lived in Dayton, Ohio. They were two of seven children. Orville was often getting in trouble in school. He was once expelled. One day his father brought home a toy helicopter for them and his brother to play with it, but after a few days they broke it. So they rebuilt a new one. The new one flew better and farther. This was their first invention. I think this was one of the reasons I choose the Wright brothers as my hero. It showed that they were creative and smart which are both characteristics for a hero.

The fact that the Wright brothers both risked their lives to make and test inventions makes them heroes. The Wright brothers were inspired by the toy they made to make a life size version that people could actually use. So with help and inspiration from their father they began building prototypes. They thought of their father as their hero. He inspired them to never give up.

They started to make a difference in people's lives when they began inventing items people would actually use. For example they perfected and created one of the first bicycles. The main way they affected me was when they started creating gliders and planes. They used the lift equation L = k\; S\; V^2\; C_L to create planes and gliders. Without them there would be no way to fly and transportation would take a lot more time.
L = lift in pounds
k = coefficient of air pressure
S = total area of lifting surface in square feet
V = velocity (headwind plus ground speed) in miles per hour
CL = coefficient of lift (varies with wing shape)

In conclusion, I think both Wright brothers, Orville and Wilbur, are great heroes. They accomplished something that people said was impossible back then. They also made something that people still use today.
