A hero in my mind is someone who does the right thing every day. It doesn't have to be anything special; just saying something nice to random people could change someone's life or their mood. Also, if everybody did the right thing there wouldn't be that many things going wrong.
Yes, I do think it's important to have a hero. I think it is because it gives you someone to look up to and he/she could give you the right ideas. Also he/she could keep you out of trouble by you wanting to do some of the similar things. Last but not least it can make your hero want to continue to do the things that makes them a hero.
Personally, I think that my AAU coach fits my definition of a hero. I think that he is a hero in my eyes because he made me change as a person, most of all my attitude. On the court, my attitude was horrible but he changed it over these last few years because he thinks that its the only thing holding me back. Also he made me get in the gym more and more. I used to want to hang out with my friends all day until we had a long talk about how if I start working hard now it will pay off. Also, I have all my life to hang out with my friends so I need to focus on school first and then basketball. My grades have improved since he has helped me before practice with homework because he always told me school comes before basketball and that's why it's called a student athlete.
In my eyes coach Zack should be in the hero hall of fame and so should he in yours. He helps kids out every day and he doesn't even get paid for it. He takes his time and spends his money to help kids get better on and off the court. As a kid he had to grow into this type of person because he wasn't doing the right thing but he realized he had to change to help other people. Last but not least he wants everybody to come together because he says we should treat each other like family.
Who is your personal hero?
