My hero is Daphne Ziman. My hero has done many nice things for the homeless which I can really relate to. I try do things for the helping the children and she influences me to help other people. My hero lives today and continues to help homeless and starving children. This person is important to me because she makes many children happy and gives them the attention they need.
My hero has made a big difference in my life because I care about the people who sit out on the street every morning waiting for someone’s help. Daphna Ziman is that person who the homeless and hungry wait for. Her mission is to educate the public on the need to become involved as mentors, foster parents, and adoptive parents. She lobbies for social services for young people all over the world.
In 1966, Daphna Ziman established Children’s Uniting Nations (CUN), an organization based in Las Angelus, California. She said, “I was once even more taken back when I heard that every year, 5 million children die from preventable disease. At that time, we have begun to become aware of the AIDS virus.” She is now starting to become even more interacted with her job. Daphna says, “Its a billion dollar business.”
Ziman hopes to see the approach go national. Daphna believes that foster care system has its priorities backwards. She has championed an innovative model that insists on rigorous training for mentors, providing them the skills to develop productive relationships with foster children.
