What is a hero?

A hero is anyone who can show courage when faced with a problem. It's a person who is able to help another person in various ways. A person can become a hero by saving someone who is in danger. Another example is someone who is there to help others and give them strength to go on through life's difficulties. I would say also a hero is like a role model, someone look up to. It can be a friend or family that helped you overcome the tough times.

Zulmarie Hernandez. My hero. She is my role model. I look up to her because of the things she has done. She has been through a lot and has suffered a lot but unlike some she has kept her head up. She has done much for others that have been through the same she has been through - all her family problems, school problems and problems that people face everyday.

Zulmarie has taught me to keep my head up and not to let no one pull me down. She has also inspired me to care for others and help them out like she helped me out. I had rough patches in my life. She helped me out and now I am doing the same for others.

I say i chose Zulmarie because she has been here for me through the ups, downs, good and bad and everything you can think of. She knew what I was dealing with, where to stay at and other such problems. I couldn't be with my mom, I couldn't be with my grandma and I don't get along with the rest of my family. She was looking out for me so she asked her parents if I could move in with them. I was so surprised and that took a big, BIG step in our friendship because she was willing to let me move in and sure her life with me. She didn't have to but yet she wanted to. She helped me through everything. She held me when I cried or when I just needed a person by my side. She explained to me how this is a part of life that comes sooner or later but we don't have to make bad choices and end our lives because of that. The world, our life is just beginning and it's gonna get better.

I thank her family for bringing her into this world and leading her towards where she is at right now because without her family, she would not know what to have told me or helped me through everything. Know that she did this as my role model and hero I'm gonna try to make a difference and maybe change someone's life like she changed mine....Thank you ZULI...
