Abraham Lincoln

I think a hero should have many good traits. One trait is that he stands up for what he wants. A hero should be full of perseverance. One big trait a hero should have is that he/she should be helpful to all people. Leadership is important for a hero if he/ she uses the power in a good way. That is what I think a hero should have.

Abraham Lincoln his a hero because he wouldn’t let something he believed leave his mind until it happened. He was born on Sunday February 12,1809 in Hodgensville, Kentucky. He had a dad named Thomas, and a mother named Nancy Todd Lincoln. He had one older sister named Sarah Lincoln, and a younger brother named Thomas who died at infancy. He was born in a log cabin and he read by firelight. He was one of the few presidents who didn’t go to college. He was the tallest president. He was elected to two terms as president of the united states.

I think Abraham Lincoln is a hero for many reasons. He stood up for what he wanted. He also had perseverance. He showed this during the Civil War. The North was going to choose a new president soon, and they were getting tired of war. They wanted to let the South have slavery as long as they could end the war. Lincoln kept the war going and kept the war going making Grant the head of the Union army, and because of that, the North won the Civil War. Lincoln showed leadership as president, and did something great when he abolished slavery. He was helpful to many slaves in the South.
