Ansel Adams traveled most of his life. He didn’t spend much time at home with his wife (Virginia) and his son (Michael). His parents' names were Charlie (dad) and Olive (mom). In April 1916, Ansel’s Aunt Mary gave him a book about the Sierras, which inspired him to take pictures of the Sierras. This started Ansel on his way to becoming an artist. Ansel Adam’s parents died in the early 1950s, so Ansel and Virginia inherited their home.
It was a cold morning in December 1943 when Ansel Adams was hoping to get a picture of the sunrise. He was in Manzanar, California, when America was in the middle of World War II. His sunrise picture turned out just about perfect. He also used his knowledge of the region to escort troops to training sessions in World War II. Those are some reasons he is my hero.
Ansel Adams had a number of obstacles in his life. One obstacle was that he had to have an electronic pacemaker to help regulate his heartbeat. Another obstacle was that he had to leave a photography trip with his son because his son had an attack of appendicitis.
Ansel Adams had many character traits. First, he was a perfectionist, because even if there was one thing wrong with a photo, he would throw it away. Second, Ansel Adams was also insightful because he made photographs the way he wanted to. He didn’t just take a picture. He made sure everything was right before he took the picture.
Ansel Adams contributed many things to our society. First, he made beautiful artwork from photography. Also, during World War II, because of his knowledge of the United States, he escorted troops through training sessions to areas that he was familiar.
Ansel Adams came to be a greatly respected man among artists and photographers and was a credit to all photographers.
