Anne Frank by Polly from Memphis, Tenn

I choose Anne Frank for my hero, because she was a strong and independent young girl who lived through the horrors of the Holocaust. The Holocaust lasted from January 30, 1933- May 8, 1945. The Holocaust was a genocide, that took place during World War II. The Holocaust was basically when the German Nazi's killed 6 million Jewish people. Anne and her family hid out in a secret attic located in the building where her dad worked.Anne and her family lived in the attice for two years. The entrance to the attic, was hidden by a bookcase. When Anne was hiding, she kept a diary. Little did Anne know, her diary would later be published into an astonishing, and best selling book. Eventually Anne and her family were found, and sent to concentration camps. Anne, her sister, and her mother died in the concentration camps. Her dad Otto, got out of the concentration camp alive. He later died of lung cancer in 1980.
