by Taylor Farnsworth from San Diego, California in United States

"If you can help someone out in that way -- not only do you change their life, but you change the lives of their kids, grand kids, the people around them," Boldin said.

Boldin in his NFL career played for a for multiple teams including the 49ers and the Ravens. He also put forth many of his personal hours to charity work and helping fight criminal justice. Florida has always been a significant place to Boldin because that is where he grew up and attended Florida State University. He played as a seminal for all four years of college and set many standards as he gave every game his all. One thing that sets Boldin out from the many outstanding athletes is that he won the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award. The prestigious award is given to people who put i the most time off the field and in charities. Anquan Boldin, winner of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, shows his generosity, his humble personality, and his inspirational habits through participating in many charities and winning many prestigious awards.

Boldin’s will to make our communities a better place and donate his time to do so shows his generosity. "If you can help someone out in that way -- not only do you change their life, but you change the lives of their kids, grand kids, the people around them," Boldin said. "To see a person who doesn't have a high school education -- and we get involved in their lives, not only do they graduate high school, but they graduate college also. And then they are able to go on and compete in the job market, because they have a college degree." Him doing these things to better our society is a true inspiration to me because i always see these news segments of kids in America that can't go to school. “It’s just me giving back to my community for all they’ve done for me. I’m home, and I feel the love” said Boldin. Saying this about giving back and and donating his time to help others shows how his generosity is making our society a much better place and it also shows the characteristics that he posseses.

"At the end of the game, whoever wins or loses, they still have to go shake the other team's hand across the field. When you think about it, it starts there, it’s just a game, and even if you did lose, you should recognize why you lost and why the other team is the victor" Boldin said.  His ability to be so humble on and off the field has influenced many people in a way that not a lot of people can do. I personally get how hard being kind to someone is after they just beat you in a game but for Boldin to it really shows how much of an outstanding person he is because if you are as dedicated to the game as he is, you will know that when you lose it really hits you and for him to congratulate the opposing team is incredible. “Anquan prides himself on putting family above all else” (q81.com). Being humble doesn’t always mean saying you aren’t something good, it means benefiting from others success and the well being of them. This is a trait that Boldin has and uses on an everyday basis.

Doing things like donating to charities and breaking NFL records doesn’t make him an inspiration, but the way he does it and the way he makes other people do it as well. Ever since I was a little kid I thought of Boldin as an inspiring person because of the way he does things. He sets his mind to something and does it with integrity and passion and it shows off in his character. “Boldin established the Anquan Boldin(Q81) Foundation in 2004 with the mission to expand the educational and life opportunities of underprivileged children, and has since has held charitable events in Phoenix, Baltimore, South Florida and the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2014, he and his wife Dionne announced a $1 million pledge to escalate the impact of the Foundation” (Hagemann, NFL writer)." This quote especially shows he is inspiration because the amount of money him and his wife donated is an extraordinary amount and I know this isn't about money, but what he did with his money is really an inspirational thing. Boldin’s humble and generous personality has led to him being called an inspiration and as hero to all.
