Apollo was the god of light, prophecy, colonization, medicine, archery, poetry, dance, intellectual inquiry, plague and the carer of herds and flocks. His symbols are swans, wolves and dolphins.
He was the son of Zeus and Leto, a mortal. His twin sister was Artemis. He was the father of the legendary Asclepius who revived the dead. He loved many people. He bore the child Orpheus with a Muse and he fell in love with Daphne who turned into a tree. A boy also caught Apollo's attention.
Apollo is my hero because of his personalities and accomplishments. He bore a son who revived the dead. He rides the Sun Chariot everyday. He bore a son, Orpheus, who was wonderful in music just like his father with the lyre. He accomplished his first mission in slaying Python and receiving the Oracle of Delphi.
Apollo occurs in many stories in greek myths. He symbolizes power in the Iliad when he plagued the Greek Army with his poisonous arrows. He stood up for the weak city of Troy against the mighty Greeks. He guided Paris’ arrow to Achilles mortal spot and killed Achilles.
