120648Audie acting in a movie based on what he didhttps://www.comicbookmovie.com  American soldiers are under vicious attack from enemy soldiers, nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, no hope for survival.Yet, even under attack Audie Murphy stepped up and got his men to safety and took on a whole German squad by himself. This is only one of the heroic acts he did. Audie Murphy is the most decorated soldier in U.S. Military history. He grew up in Texas where his mother died and he bitterly resented his dad. His only way out of Texas was joining the army where he joined a year early at 17.  While he was in the army during world war two he displayed many heroic acts and traits. The most decorated soldier in history, Audie Murphy demonstrates bravery and determination which makes him a hero.

120567Audie Murphy reenacting his heroic experiences in his movie. https://specialoperations.comThe first time Audie Murphy proved his heroic trait of bravery was when he took on enemies all on his own. The "Audie Murphy." Encyclopedia  wrote, “Murphy encountered a hill dotted with German machine-gun nests that were protecting a big gun aimed at the coast. He headed up the hill alone, methodically destroying several of the machine-gun nests along the way”("Audie Murphy." Encyclopedia ). This quote is showing how he fearlessly went uphill alone and destroyed many enemy machine gunners to try and clear the coast for the allies.  He is a hero because he faced multiple machine guns destroying all of them all by himself and helped his allies secure land. He showed his bravery once more by taking on more opponents while on a burning tank. "Audie Murphy." Encyclopedia  states,  “Under withering attack, Mr. Murphy climbed atop a burning tank destroyer, commandeered a .50-caliber machine gun and held off an entire German infantry company as it desperately tried to take him out”"Audie Murphy." Encyclopedia ). This quote is describing how he risked his life and held off an entire German infantry in order to save his men. This proves he is a brave hero because without hesitation he put his life on the line and risked himself, facing almost certain death on top of a burning tank, while simultaneously  fighting off an entire German infantry and eventually saving his men. Audie Murphy displayed bravery by risking his life multiple times for others.

In addition, Audie Murphy displayed his heroic trait of determination when he was younger after his mother died and his father hated him. The author of,  "Audie Leon Murphy." Dictionary of American Biography states, “Murphy was on his own. He had left school after the fifth grade, the extent of his formal education, and survived through a series of jobs” ("Audie Leon Murphy." Dictionary of American Biography ). This quote is showing that he was determined because at the age of 10 or 11 after dropping out of 5th grade, he had to find jobs and  stay motivated and persistent to keep these jobs on his own.  Also, Murphy showed his determination when he got injured in battle but only a few days later he went back for more. "Audie Murphy." Encyclopedia of World Biography wrote, “Murphy then threw himself back into battle, hammering at the Germans as they retreated east toward the Rhine River “ ("Audie Murphy." Encyclopedia of World Biography ). This is an example of  how Audie is a resilient soldier that jumped back into battle after having an injury and going up against a tough opponent. This is an amazing demonstration of his determination because he suffered a hip injury and worked hard to recover quickly.  Instead of taking a break, he jumped right back into war for his country. Audie Murphy, is a brave, fearless and strong hero who will push the limits for his men and will jump back into battle after being injured.

Audie Murphy, saved lives by risking his own, went up against all odds and pushed himself. He put his life on the line more than once and saved many lives. Audie Murphy inspires me and others because of his great courage and determination. He risked his life multiple times in order to save others and help allies. He inspires me to push through the hard times because he landed jobs in the 5th grade and worked hard his entire life and became the most decorated U.S. military history.   The most admired soldier in history put his life on the time and time again he worked extremely hard his whole life. He is courageous, selfless, brave, there are not enough words in the dictionary to describe what kind of heroic person Audie Murphy was.
