Description

Celebrating Laguna environmental hero James Dilley.

Verse:
There was a preacher from Dakota,
who one day hit the road and took a trip,
to the far off British Isles.
He saw the little town
with green fields all around and he
brought the vision with him to Laguna.

Chorus:
Jim Dilley, Jim Dilley
no one else works harder than
Jim Dilley
To keep his vision keen
and keep the hillsides green
no one else works harder than
Jim Dilley

Verse:
And there were loads of folks
who loved him when he spoke
About the English country he had seen
He stood mighty tall
in the supervisor’s hall’
as he spoke about the ways to keep the hills green.

Verse:
He slowly turned the tide
got City Council on his side
So many in Laguna were his fans.
Well Irvine had their say
but Dilley won the day
As he showed them all a different way to plan.

Repeat Chorus

Verse:
Where old Laguna folks
have picnics in the oaks
and the summer time
time shines through the canyon trees
Where clubs have mountain bikes
and classes go for hikes
over flowered ridges high above the sea.

Repeat Chorus
