A hero to me is someone who makes an effort to help someone or to help a community. I believe Audrey Hepburn is this type of person. She has her own children’s fund, the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund. In 1988, Audrey embarked on her second career as UNICEF’s International Goodwill Ambassador. Those are only a few reasons why I believe Audrey Hepburn has the qualities of being a hero.

Audrey lived in Brussels, Belgium, as a child. She attended a London-area school for girls after her parents divorced. While vacationing with her mother in Holland, World War II began. While here, she spent time at a public school, receiving ballet training. After the war, she granted a scholarship for ballet. Soon after that, she began winning modeling assignments from fashion photographers. Then she started taking acting classes.

During this time, her career was just starting. In her whole lifetime, she starred in 27 movies. This was done from 1948-1989. In 1954, she married Mel Ferrer. They had a son named Sean in 1960. They were divorced in 1968. She then remarried and had another son with Luca Dotti in 1977. They also divorced. Audrey later married Dutch actor Robert Wolders. She was only one of four performers to have won all of the four major awards. These are the Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony.

On January 20, 1993, Audrey died of colon cancer. After she died, her son Sean wrote a book about her. Its title is," Audrey Hepburn, an Elegant Spirit." It shows his memories of his life with his mother. He then carried on her children’s fund by donating books, clothes, and many other necessities for children. Audrey Hepburn was a very wonderful woman.

In conclusion, Audrey Hepburn is my hero. She pursued all of her dreams. She got a scholarship in dancing. She was also very successful in modeling. The thing she most enjoyed, though, was acting. She has a children’s fund; also she has many things to do with UNICEF. Audrey Hepburn is my hero for these many reasons and more. I hope that she can influence you into pursuing your hopes and dreams, just as she did me.
