Bethany Hamilton survived and conquered that life changing experience through her act to persevere. Although at first Bethany was discouraged, she never isolated herself from the situation at task, and she enlightened people to never give up. Bethany overcame a shark attack in 2004 by a 14-foot tiger shark. Since she lost her arm she became not only a spokesperson to help teens succeed, but she also created an organization to help support families facing poverty. A true hero characterizes through optimism and diligence within one’s lifetime. Bethany Hamilton posseses the traits of dedication and desire to portray the position as a world wide hero.

Hamilton’s dedication to support others, helps prevail her true heroic traits. Starting a program worldwide to help families facing poverty is where her success first began. “In 2004, Bethany also became a board member and spokesperson for world vision international, a global organization that provides support for families facing poverty” (New Moon Girls Media). Bethany strived to make others happy and goes out of her way to help those in desperate, harsh conditions. Instead of using her money for herself throughout her success and fame, she proceeds to give back to more people in need. Not only does she help support the community, but she helps speak up for those who can’t speak for themselves. “She started a public speaking, a task known to introduce anxiety” (Bergeson). One of her main priorities is putting others before herself so she can help provide for them. Introducing the struggle and affect about anxiety teaches people that hardships of everyday life. Bethany begins to explain how to approach the problem. Bethany exceeds the act of achieving. She’s constantly giving back and stops at nothing to do the right thing.

Bethany was always compassionate for others and did everything in her power to prove they mean something to her. “She continues to touch and inspire lives globally as a professional surfer, and motivational speaker” (Hamilton). She’s never selfish and proceeds to help people every day. By sharing and opening up to the people that need it the most, Bethany increased the hope and desire the teens and adults need the most. Bethany never gives up which shows people that even through your hardest days you can succeed. “On April 8, 2011… the film Soul Surfer opens on 2,000 screens around the United States” (Patterson). She’s constantly trying to give people better guidance and aspiration through their hardships. Bethany is the cause of a lot of success after failure. She’s trying to show people that anything is possible as long as you have faith in yourself and others. Bethany is a true hero because she strives every day to make the world a better place.

Bethany used her desire dedication to overcome her obstacles and help other one with their hardships. throughout Bethany’s life she’s never given up and never became selfish in the process. Reflecting back on her story, she was constantly showing her act of endorsement and nourishment. She inspires me as well as others because even in her lowest times she persevered and helped aid the community. This ultimately led to her becoming an inspiring advocate towards others.
