Bill Woods

by Fred from North Carolina

"I became heartsick about not being with them," the 69-year-old retired Army master sergeant said. "I got all upset and re-enlisted in February 1951."

A hero is someone who is brave. A hero is courageous and helpful. For this reason I think Bill Woods is a hero because he fought and protected us here in the United States.

I admire Bill Woods because he fought for our country. Bill Woods is a hero to me because he fought for every single one of us. Bill dropped out of high school when he was 17 years old. He joined the army on Sept. 24, 1947. He fought in the Korean War because he is brave.

People who fought for our freedom are heroes to me because they are brave enough to die for us.
